My first few sketches for the feedback tool incorporate a variety of current features found within forums, folio sites and social networking sites. I believe the key to solving this brief isn't so much about re-inventing the wheel as it is understanding what is currently possible, what works and what doesn't. With this in mind we can develop an idea as a team that combines a variety of current features in to one simple interface. Key thoughts include:
- The traditional forum, include a reward/ranking system for the most active users. The more feedback left, the more positive the ranking.
- Voting. Either as an up/down vote system or a numeric scale. The issue with this method would be that (similar to the like/love button) feedback is non specific and leaves the designer with no idea of why people appreciate the work.
- "Thumbnail up voting/leader board" In this instance users could vote between different work within one category. For example a section on corporate id could contain all projects tagged corporate id and would display in order of popularity. This method will fail if unsupported by a large and active group of users.
- "Tag responses"
- Targeted feedback by leading users through set steps to give an overall response. Think Amazon/Ebay ratings. Gives the user specific feedback on key areas within their design.
